This set of Matryoshka dolls is completely handmade and unique. Each single doll is made of natural wood (linden tree). They are all mostly painted with tempera and richly decorated with golden leaf. The dolls are usually covered with 4-6 layers of lacquer.
This marvelous and complex author's work is executed using a tremendous amount of gold tinsel simulator. The author admirably recreated the beauty and magnificence of traditional Russian costume. A colorful, multilayered dress within many frills, folds and astonishing patterns, is topped off with a sparkling tiara, as if it was strewn with precious stones.
